Do You Re-read Books?

I've had a lot of people recently, especially on Sunday mornings at Recycle, who have mentioned books that they either re-read or want to re-read. I, personally, can't make time to re-read anything. But, if I did, The Source, by James Michener, comes to mind.
What one book would you pick to re-read? Maybe you've already done it. Let me know, and I'll post the results.

  1. I used to reread favorite books all the time. Before I started blogging and realized I didn't have the time! I have tried to reread one favorite book a year. Thanks for reminding me I haven't done that yet in 2013.

  2. I re-read a lot! Most recently, Othello. Must be the third time at least and I enjoy Shakespeare more and more on each reading. I've also got a thing for Margaret Atwood in general and 'Cat's Eye' in particular. I love Atwood's brilliant characters, diverse genres and sufficiently exotic locations to be new and interesting. On the other hand, I have tried re-reading D. H. Lawrence's 'Sons and Lovers' and failed! Loved it years ago, but not at all my cup of tea these days. I do read new books too! Most recently, Rose Tremain's 'Trespass', which I found rather disappointing and not a patch on her 'Restoration' - which I shall re-read at some point.

  3. Yes ... If I really, really love a book I'll read it more than once.

  4. I don't know how you guys do it. I've got a TBR (to be read) pile about 30 strong with another 25 TBP (to be purchased) on top of that. As Stacy said, I'm sure part of it is the blog. I feel the need to read a bunch of different things, between (among?) recommendations, popular books, my own favorite authors, and ARC's (advanced readers' copies). But even before I started writing the blog, I couldn't imagine re-reading something when there are so many books I want to read. More power to all of you for having the discipline and drive to do it.

  5. Ive never been a re-reader, I have a pretty good memory and haven't felt the need. That said I have re read a handful of books I read for high school English ie Jane Eyre, Emma to see what I thought of them without having to pick them apart.
