A Double Author Event at Rakestraw Books

We took a jaunt to Rakestraw Books in Danville tonight to see 2 touring authors:  Jessica Shattuck and Chloe Benjamin.  Jessica has 3 published books.  The one she's promoting is the paperback version of her latest, The Women in the Castle.  Chloe's got 2 books.  Her new one is The Immortalists.  They both read a little from their books and then asked each other questions.  After that the audience got to ask a few.  When that was over, I got both books signed and still had enough time to get back home to Rosy Yogurt before they closed at 10:00!

      Good to hear about Castle. I'm going to get to that one soon. I'll read The Immortalists too in the not-so-distant future. Thanks for your input.

    I've read so much buzz for The Immortalists lately. I'm so intrigued by the premise and hope to read it at some point. Sounds like a great event!

      The buzz is what made me decide to go to the event (in late afternoon traffic, it's a 1.5 hour ride!). It was definitely worth it.

      Seeing so much press about The Immortalists was what pushed me to go. I had also seen Jessica's book around too. I am starting The Women in the Castle today.

    I love Author events. Both of these authors' books are ones that I've had my eye on, especially Women in the Castle. Enjoy your new books!
